I've been commissioned! (kind of)
A wonderful teacher from my middle school found some of my work online and asked me to do a series of portraits of "kick-ass" women for her new daughter's nursery. She asked me to do about six portraits, and while I have only done two so far, I look forward to continuing, it's exciting to be able to do art as a job!
The first portrait I did was of Malala, an incredible figure for young women not only because of her bravery and strong will, but also because she channeled this energy towards advocating for equal education and rights for women. What's most incredible about Malala Yousafzai is that she is only 17, MY AGE, but her fearlessness and strength have taken her far, making her an advocate and example for people all over the world to take action and fight for what you believe in, no matter your age or background.
I am currently working on a portrait of Boudicca (who is another absolutely incredible female figure, even though less known-look her up!) I'll keep updating as I continue these portraits, this was such an great idea!
